History- Nov. 28 - Dec. 2, 2011

Since our class has just completed our study of Greek Mythology, we are presenting a play, " The Apple Of Discord," to all 1st, 2nd, 4th, & 5tth grades and our 3rd grade parents on Friday, Dec. 9th. It will be at 9:45 A.M. in the library. The children will wear togas that I have made for them from white pillow cases. The children will make their own olive leaf wreaths to wear on their heads. We will do this at school this week.. Please have your child bring a pair of shorts that she can wear under her toga. TThe children must wear their school uniform that day. Your child will wear the toga and shorts for the play only. We hope that you can join us, as we share what we have learned with you. Joan Brindley

Nov. 28-Dec. 2: Latin I and Science

Latin I: This week we will begin learning 2nd declension neuter noun endings in chapter 7.

Science: We will learn about the life of bees and ants in their natural habitats.

November 21-22: Science

This week we will continue learning how animals survive in extreme weather. On Monday we will make blubber gloves to help us understand how certain animals are designed to live in the cold.

Sharing Feast Nov.18, 2011

Dear Parents,

Third Grade is providing the Pumpkin Bread for our school Sharing Feast on Friday, Nov. 18, 2011. We will need at least four loaves of Pumpkin Bread. Please send your loaf of bread to school, with your child, or bring it to school by 10:50 a.m. on Thursday. Thank your for your continued support of the children and our school. It has been my delight to work with each of you and your wonderful children this year.

They will bring the box home on Monday with instructions and materials to decorate their wardrobes. The completed wardrobe projects will be due on Wednesday, November 30, 2011.
